Folks,

Looking for some suggestions for a plum porter using extract.

My bro is keen on St Peter's plum porter, and I'd like to clone it if poss.

Thanks,

Col Porter.

Is that malt extract, plum extract or both? The titanic plum porter is great! There was iirc a plum porter thread...some mixed results using plums..I think I'd use a pure extract in a porter recipe at bottling...

A good while ago, I had thought about making a Prune (Plum Juice) Stout on a thread but was quickly shot down, I don't recall why it still seems like a good idea in my head.

It'll be malt extract, "kit" with DME added, and dry hopped.

I planned on using prune juice - despite others being shot down for the same suggestion.

I've tried prune juice in a stout kit for basically the same reasons. It wasn't particularly nice, it didn't really end up with a plumb flavour. Although the juice did help with other things :-S
