Not famous but it gave me the idea for the thread, its the underground, glass lampshades, wooden floors and the well dressed lady is smoking.

Am intrigued by pose of this fashionably, albeit inconsistently dressed lady. Could’ve been my mom, but for the smoking. Dark gloves with nude stockings in open toed shoes? Still more acceptable than bare legs in those days.

Agree Terry i bet there isn't may who cannot remember what they were doing at that moment on that day it will stay with us forever.

I was outside having a smoke when one of the lads ran out and said we should get inside we went into the brew room and stood in near silence as we watched the rest of it unfolded.

A world changer that Terry I think we can all remember where we were when that happened, I was in my Toyota dealership watching it live with customers on the TV when the second plane struck the conversation went straight to who America were going to attack and when world war 3 was about to start

Horrible photo, but helped turn the tide of opinion about the war in Vietnam for the American people. The story behind it is far more complex than the image suggests.

This one is the first one I thought of.
