I emailed united utilities the other day about the issue. They took my enquiry as an exemption request and I now am officially allowed to use my immersion chiller connected to the hose :cheers7:

Exemption request? Sounds kind of like a sick note. Did you tell them you needed to make beer for 'therapeutic' needs?
