Hi there,

This is my first time brewing Saison, I am using Mangrove Jacks - French Saison yeast.

A layer of mold float on top of the wort during fermentation, already passed one month and the mold still there. (as shown in the picture)

Is this normal? Should I remove the mold manually? Is this beer safe to drink?

Thank you so much for any advises provided.

Are you sure it is mold or rather dried up yeast on top of the beer, My last brew used MJ saison yeast and it got down to 1.003 within 2 weeks so the beer should be finished.
Have you taken a gravity reading?
Could you rack the beer to a secondary fermenter perhaps.
Have you tasted the beer?

Hi chestersmild, I forgot to measure OG but the gravity now is 1.008. I just wondering if that white thing appears on top is normal for brewing saison? No, I not yet test the beer, should be ok to drink right?
Anyway, thanks for your suggestion and comments...
