I'm still stuck on around 5 hours for a brew day. Everything goes to plan,I've put all boils to an hour and clean as I go..I've sort of settled on this and a brew day is exactly that...I don't generally try to fit anything else in and the day I brew wife's at work and kids are in school and college. Last brew day I was all done and supping beer in the garden by the time the Mrs got home.

The best thing is to find a job where you work longer hours but fewer days! On a more serious note though, I've always brewed outside and on particularly cold days in winter, struggled to reach a rolling boil, so started splitting brew days, mashing one day and boiling the next. This worked really well and seemed to make my brew days more pleasurable and so carried on for quite some time even in warmer weather.
