So decided to brew something a bit darker.
Originally going to be an Irish Red ale so got some Imperial Darkness and some Wyeast Denny's Favourite 50 as I split the batch.

Had been reading Session Beers by Jennifer Talley and within it is recipe for an English Amber Ale.
Its quite close to an Irish Red in terms of ingredients so just went for it.
Inevitably, I didn't have quite the same ingredients, and also it came out a bit stronger than intended.
OG: 1.049
FG: 1.010
Here is the beer straight out the fermenters prior to packaging.
The Denny's one is a bit sweeter on the palate but still finishes quite dry. The biscuit malt I added is noticeable.
The Darkness one has more emphasis on the dark malts on the grain bill.
Both are very good IMHO and I had no problem sinking a couple of pints even though they are not yet carbonated.
Next up I plan to split a batch and ferment with Imperial Rustic and Lallemand Kolsch yeast.
Anyone got a session strength recipe they recommend for any other styles?
