Hi my local home brew shop is a bit of a distance so I was thinking of buying larger quantities of grain and hops. Just wondering how long grain can be stored for and what are the optimum conditions for storage?
Thanks

I've just used the last of 10kg crushed after 7 months . It smelled and tasted as fresh as when I bought it new. Cool and air tight it ideal. But I just kept in in zip lock bags filled to the top to keep the air out and stored them in a 60L bin in my second bedroom. I've just bought a 25kg sack and will keep it in exactly the same conditions. I expect it to last as long as it needs to get used up
