what else would have to be added....?
Some grape juice concentrate or raisins, the grape juice on its own would be dull and insipid.

Better tell all the wine producers in the world that gem of information.

What I meant, as you probably know full well, is that supermarket grape juice in cartons is not really suitable on its own for making wine as it's mostly pressed from dessert grapes and not wine grapes.

Wine is generally made from grapes which you wouldn't want to eat, or drink unfermented.

I know what you meant but I couldn't resist

I too use cheap 'drinking' grape juice as a base for my (fruit) wines. :thumb:

I have to smile at this thread, it's quite amusing.
Seriously though you've given me an idea.
My own grapes , until global warming realy takes hold, come out high on the acid side.
So instead of trying to reduce the acid by adding chalk or "acidex", I'm going to experiment by adding supermarket grape juice.
I do like this Forum. (happy smile)
