I ditched my S30 cylinders many years ago and went over to the much better Midget Widget system. (one cylinder lasted me over a year, on average.) When they went out of business I switched over to SodaStream with an adapter. I wouldn't dream of going back to the S30 gassing system

I’ve only just gone over from bottles to 2 barrels with S30 valves so I hope something is done to be able to get refills.

My local store suggests complaining/ requesting a rethink.
I’ve just emailed contactz@hambletonbard.com. (Not holding my breath though)

I wouldn't bother - somebody else has taken the machinery over. Production is already under way, and distributors are receiving the stocks today...

Are punters like me allowed to know who this "somebody else" is?

I'm getting all my information from another wholesaler (Starts with R, and ends in itchies.)
I've been told that the company taking over are in Birmingham, think they are called Brewgas, Brugas, or something like that.
I've had a quick look, but can't see any company that looks similar.
If any homebrew shops are struggling, I think Ritchies are the best bet...

    Just received fresh supplies.
The Company is called Brewgas, with a Birmingham postcode.
No other information regarding the manufacturer - I don't think it's the same company as mentioned by @keat64 above...

So are their prices the same as HB's were, and do the refills come in a sealed plastic sleeve telling customers to accept no other?

They're now in a plain blue plastic sleeve.
They state "Cylinder should be exchanged for refill at official stockist only and not acceptable if seal or label has been removed."
As far as I can see, the prices are the same...

Thanks for that. I will pass the information on to the owner of the shop I re-filled S30s for, (purely selfishly, so I could continue to prevent air getting to the surface of my beer in part-empty pressure barrels, as I had been doing since the late 7o's).

I have 2 super 30 cylinders surplus to my requirements, one full and still wrapped and one nearly full. £15 for both if anyone wants to collect them.

I'm just across the water in Kent. I don't think I can send them full, so would need to be collected.

Most of what has been said is true my local HB shop in Birmingham is the now the only one supplying the S30 which they call an L30 bottle and will be suppling all HB shops and wholesellers like the one mentioned. They have never run out even when there was a co2 shortage they still had plenty. More to the piont your local HB shop should be getting there stock soon so ask them.
There also known as celler supplies as well as Brew Gas

Sorted! I used the gas connector from the top of a 5 gallon pressure barrel, the one that has a separate pressure relief valve (PRV) as the outlet nozzle has a larger diameter than the valve which has it's own PRV. Drill a small hole through the outlet nozzle until it goes through into the main body. Connect a 3/8" pipe onto the nozzle, secure with pipe clip. At the other end of the pipe connect it to John Guest 3/8" pipe connector. Temporarily connect to a 3/8" pipe coming out of your main gas cylinder. Turn on gas, slowly at first to check for leaks, S30 gas bottle now filled.
