Well, I dry hopped the beer last night so going to give it a couple of days before bottling. I was tempted not to dry hop in order to reduce exposure but then decided that the whole point was to have very hoppy beer. I'm looking at splitting the batch as follows:
5L - cold crashed and bottled
5L - cold crashed and bottled with 1/4 of a Campden
5L - no cold crash and bottled
5L - no cold crash and bottled with 1/4 of a Campden
Should be interesting to see how that little experiment turns out.
I'm still very tempted by kegs of course but this has now turned into something of a mission.

@Harbey that's the sort of thing I'd do but after reading the brulosophy about the effects of cold crashing I'd just crash the lot as it seems to make no difference... oh, unless you're testing if the cold crashing brings in any oxidation. That would make it worth doing. They quite often fill foil balloons with co2 to counter any air that might get drawn back through the airlock.

Make sure that you do side to side tastings over time. If possibly getting someone else to do the pours so you're going in blind.

Yeah, I'm definitely looking at the effects of crashing on shelf life. Will be an interesting outcome no matter what. I'm going to taste test after 2, 4 ,6 & 8 weeks. Will post pics if they tell any stories.
