I’ve always used THBC mainly due to the stock and price, but I get annoyed with the delivery charge and it only goes up to 30kg PIA when you order a sack of base malt. Do you have a weight limit for delivery?

Good luck with it!

The only thing I'd like to mention is that every item highlights a link to your "Shipping" (please consider calling it Delivery instead) information page, which says:

Shipping policy

We dispatch all our items on the same day they are bought!
Very small items that can be packed as a Royal Mail letter will be charged 65p postage.
All other items postage costs £3 unless above £50 and it is free

However, at checkout, I'm quoted £15 delivery to Austria. Now, £15 delivery to Austria from the UK is actually very reasonable, but the information on the link page does not state that your "Shipping policy" only applies to the UK. It's perhaps some small print you might consider adding to avoid confusion.

Haha of course! This website is something I knocked up in about an hour! I’ve got a professional doing me something better which will be ready in about a week.. very excited for it to go live!!

I really wish you the best of luck with this. The only thing I might suggest, from a consumer point of view, is that it could be worth specialising. For example, I recently bought 3 corny kegs elsewhere, but at the same time I bought connectors, flow control taps, a manifold, DuoTight push fightings, beer line etc. As the one supplier had it all, I bought it all there. Currently there are multiple suppliers who could have helped me here. However, those same suppliers didn't generally have hops, yeast and malts for sale as well. Of course, there are suppliers who do, but I think the niche focused angle is a better option in a crowded marketplace.

Good luck with the business. It would be great to see you expand your range of ingredients over time and stock a few liquid strains 👍

Good luck with your venture! I run an internet store (not homebrew related) and if I can offer any advice at all it is that good customer service = return customers. Also, assume that the couriers will play football with the parcels and package accordingly. Anything glass will need multiple layers of bubble wrap and cardboard!

Ben, I really like the website as it is. It's really easy to view and it looks good. I hope your web designer just expands it and makes it easy for you to add and remove stock items and/or categories. Don't go all fancy-schmancy on us! 😘

Hi Ben,

Good to see you pushing the business. I have seen a bit of you on the Facebook groups too, I always like to see a bit of varation in the market.

If you're in the market for a shop.... have a word with Joe at Leyland Home Brew... he's been trying to retire for years.! :laugh8:

You'll get my support and custom at some stage soon.

I am in the market for a wort chiller already to go with garden hose connections, so assuming theres a discount code available, and you are still able to fulfill in the current climate, I will place an order with yourself no problem. And like others have said, good service = repeat custom

Yes, we are still fulfilling orders. Our wort chillers are sent with royal mail as they are under 2kg. This means they are one of the quickest to dispatch as the other couriers are having delays in collecting our goods.

Hi @BenParr!
I went to place an order for 250ml of ChemSan and x2 packets of yeast and postage has been calculated at £4... is this correct? On your website it says lightweight orders are £1 and standard orders are £3. Is postage charged per item type?
Thanks for taking a look at this for me - it would also be useful to know as a customer what constitutes ‘lightweight’ so I’m not accidentally going over due an 11g pack of yeast without knowing the cut off.
