4kg pilsner malt
1kg flaked oats
500 gram Vienna malt
250 gram carapils

Mash 1 hour @ 66C
Boil 1hr 15mins

Simcoe. 50 gram flame out
Amarillo 50 gram flame out
Protofloc last 15 minutes of boil
Wyeast 1318 London Ale III (I’ve substituted Lalbrew Verdant IPA dried)
Ferment at 20C
Citra 150 gram last 3 days
Galaxy 100 gram last 3 days

Yes, I read that thread and got me thinking about my conundrum, hence this thread.
I'm using a Greg Hughes recipe so following it blindly as I haven't done it before. :confused.:
🤔 I mean, no harm can come from a bit of experimentation.
I have only dry hoped twice. Both times I was quite cautious with my hop weight. The beers turned out ok, I was using Citra hops though. Quite a punchy hop in both aroma and flavour.
I would go with the recipe and then dial back if you feel you could achieve the same results with less.
 
How much hops are you using. That's not my experience with on average 100g dry hop
That was 50g of hops. They were wetted through, but it was a really dense clump when I pulled it out which must have reduced contact.
I actually sterilised a glove and gave it a gentle squeeze!
