Aye, trees are pretty awesome, I have one that sometimes has cherries on it.

Aye, trees are pretty awesome, I have one that sometimes has cherries on it.

A. E. Housman, ‘Loveliest of trees, the cherry now’.

Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Is hung with bloom along the bough,
And stands about the woodland ride
Wearing white for Eastertide.

Now, of my threescore years and ten,
Twenty will not come again,
And take from seventy springs a score,
It only leaves me fifty more …

Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chamber of my brain.
Quaintest thoughts, queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away.
What care I how time advances;
I am drinking ale today.

- Edgar Allan Poe

Strength?! Lol my struggles tell me I’m a **** dad, I’m addicted to caffeine, I probably have a drinking problem probably exacerbated by one of my few hobbies - brewing, I need to lose weight and I have a problem socialising with people unless it’s online because I keep thinking they have COVID and why are they standing so close to me and why do they want to know how my weekend went?!

Strength?

Lol

I always think that online forums such as this are great.

I have some really good mates that I have knocked around with since infant school, but we are all different and like different things so coming on here with like minded others is great.

Anyway stop putting yourself down!

I have stopped vaping, lost weight (probably only what I put on at the start ), got a new job, started saving towards a house deposit. Oh and I have a baby on the way. I doubt I'd have done most of these things had I not been able to work from home and saved on travel costs.

Whilst it's overall been good for me I appreciate it's affected a lot of people and it must be terrible for those who have lost loved ones and those who've been isloated.

Been furloughed week on week off, then due to lack of work, got laid off the end of October. So far been turned down by Aldi and Amazon, Im a machinist and no one is taking on right now. Spend most my day filling out applications.

Still doing overtime in the railway industry. Been driving down south and all I can say is what lock down looks like business as usual on the motorways.
