So I got started nice and early this morning on my Sierra Nevada clone. Mash went well and as I was heating up the sparge water I noticed a slight problem. Well, a bloody big problem actually.

I emptied 5 2 litre bottles of water into the kettle, and measured the last litre out with a jug. Trouble is that jug had had caustic soda in it and the mash was finished by the time I'd realised. :oops:

Not enough grain left to start again either. Day wasted. Balls.
 
Bad luck with all the wasted time and grain but as yeastinfection says It's a good job you noticed in time or you'd have ended up looking like your avatar...permanately
