Firstly sorry to all those who have gone to the effort of producing how tos and answering my various dumb questions - I have read and digested them, unfortunately that may not be evident from today's botch job.
I have been brewing extract for 2years so thought I'd try and go ag as I'm having a better brewing set up built.
I was meant to make a bag for my mash out of muslin, but I lost the muslin. Having blamed everyone in the house (none of their fault) I found a cotton bag from a bedding set, sod it I thought, that'll do! It was too small and the weave was too fine but I was definitely brewing today!

So having found some wild hops

I thought let's try a fairly simple brew to see what I have found I decided the following recipe (actually I just made it up as I went along)

12/13litre brew
1.5k MO
1.5k Lager malt
50gms wheat dme in boil

25 gm of old hops (calypso, bodicea, Amarillo)used to dry hop previous brews added at 60 mins
20 gm wild hops 10min
20 gm wild hops 5min
15 gm wild hops flame out
Est 47.5 ibu ( estimated wild hops at 4%aa)

This is my pretty lame little set up with grain in a bag and a half arsed mash tun

Doughing in (if that's what you can call it)

Then sealed tun and mashed for 90mins on what I beleived to be 68*

Returned to the mt but somehow the temp in the centre of the grain had had gone up! (Can't imagine that there would be any issue with my £1.99 Chinese thermometer)

Still the gravity isn't too bad

And leave this for a while now while I clean some bits

All done and in the fv in the garage to cool over night, will pitch the yeast in the morning, not decided wether to use us05 or gervin English ale yet.

Will update as I go along as this really does have no plan.

Sorry about that, I'll try and sort it - first time I have tried adding pics.
Had a bit of confusion linking through Flickr.

Nope.
You need to put the bb code in inside the img brackets such as
