In my opinion - Cars Per House

Dogs need a good run about and most owners can't be arsed walking further than the length of their nose. Here is my rant, one car per household seems sensible to me.
One car? What about those of us who have classic cars?

What about those of us who live in rural areas and both work the opposite directions and don't have any public transport options?

We're up to 4 cars now my lads have passed the driving....and GOOD LUCK to them!! My parents never drove...yeah you heard right, and although I'd do anything for them, playing taxi between myself and my sister can be awkward as even though they're retired they "have" to do their shopping etc on set days/times or their heads drop off, which isn't always possible. Anyway..they have had dogs which were both on and off the lead in various scenarios.

I couldn't agree more as i live in a rural area, i need a car i don't need a dog (i did have several over the years) if you cannot be arsed to walk your dog a decent distance you shouldn't have got it in the first place.

My dogs love a ride in the car.

I bet they do Clint, my Springers used to love it -

So here's the thing.
I live around 4 miles from the beach.

On a weekend, I'll happily walk the dog to the beach and back. Although she's getting a bit older now and sometimes we take the bus back (her choice, not mine).

I work from home mostly, so on a lunchtime, I can take the dog for a walk down the beach, but I have to drive.
I mean, I could walk round the local church field, but it gets a bit dull after a while and the dog, being a spaniel, loves the opportunity to get wet!

But other walks (morning/evening) we just go to the local church field.

About our parents not owning cars, my wife's Mum doesn't drive. Neither did her Grandparents.

This massively limited the jobs they could do, particularly with a small child. And she was lucky that all her relatives lived nearby.

My folks on the other hand, shared a car with the neighbours that effectively was for emergencies and holidays. My Dad drove the works minibus, so at least he didn't have to worry about getting to work (he went round the town sweeping up the factory workers before and after work). We weren't allowed in the van, ever.

Because we lived in a rural town and my grandparents all lived in London, 100 miles away, we were lucky to see ANY relatives twice in a year. Many of them we didn't see every year. Never did family Christmas or big birthdays.

SWMBO's mam doesn't drive and neither does SWMBO, SWMBO can drive and fairly well for a learner but she never got the buzz so never bothered taking her test she would rather take the bus.

Since the kids left home we've just had one car. Bit of a pain as the Mrs works part time so when she's at work I'm stuck at home. No public transport. Too far to walk to the nearest village, 3 miles. I could get there but wouldn't make the return trip. Can't cycle anymore because of me prostate.
Thinking of getting a van as a second vehicle and for camping.

Funny enough, my Missus has a licence and a car. I reckon miles she's done that didn't involve work?
200. And most of those were driving back from me buying classic cars.

She won't even drive to the pub.
