Looking at your pics it’s early days for an infection so either run the beer off from your FVs tap if you have one or insert your syphon through an area of clear beer and leave the top couple of inches in the FV.

Once empty some cheap thin supermarket bleach will kill practically anything that is hiding in there. Wear some decent rubber gloves and give it a thorough wipe over with a clean cloth or sponge or if you are sure your lid is completely watertight give it a good shake. Rinse, rinse and keep rinsing until the chlorine smell is gone then spray with a metabisulphate (campden tablet) solution to eliminate the last of the chlorine and to keep it sanitary for next use. Snap the lid on and you should be good to go for your next brew. If you have Chemsan or an equivalent sanitiser add a litre of solution and give it a good shake.

On brew day check for any visible spots of mould, crusty bits of yeast etc. Give it another shake with the Chemsan & you are good to go. Your stirrer, measuring jug etc can be treated in the FV at the same time.

I used this method myself with bucket and cylinder type fvs and have never had an infection. Just beware of fumes from bleach & metabisulphate and wear gloves - bleach for obvious reasons, but metabisulphate will make your hands smell for hours.

Good luck with brew #5 and take heart that some of Belgiums best brews are made with wild yeast.
