Hi all..... I was wondering if it's possible to make an imperial stout around 10% abv using a stout kit? What extra would I need to add to amplify the abv? Etc... Any info would be greatly appreciated

Hi fuzzy, brew a little shorter and add a 3Kg of a combination of dme (dark) extract, candy sugar / golden syrup. you may need a new yeast thought.

This sounds like a plan.... Wasn't sure if it would all resolve but there's only one way to find out..... I'll get a couple of kits and give it a go

2kg extra dark dme
1 kg medium
1 kg ex light
500g dwe
500g candi dark
450g golden syrup
500g aromatic malt
500g dark crystal
250g roasted barley.
250g caramunich iii

I didn't use a kit for this however I have 2 brewfferm imperial stout kits that only make 9 litres of 8% beer so i'm going to double up and add some of the above to make 18 litres. @ 10-12% - you really need headspace for these brews as they can go nuts.

I used a single pack of mj's 14% yeast rehydrated.

There is an old video on youtube, where they use 3 coopers cans, can't remember the full rundown.
