Recieved this morning mate
Blimey that was quick!
@mozza your beer has arrived safely
That makes 11 entries recieved so far with a few more potentials. I reckon we'll probably split the judging over the 10th and 11th for the sake of our taste buds and fairness to the entrants.
Just boxed mine up, should be with you tomorrow
@MackemBrew recieved your bottle today mate
Two bottles recieved today from @ProperJobHomebrew and @uDicko making 14 entries ready for judging tomorrow
Good luck sorry but my beer wasn't ready in time I only got round to bottling last night
No problem, there's plenty of other competitions for you to enter
Who's doing August? Haven't seen a thread pop up yet.
Spoke too soon, Parcelforce just dropped off @brewhaha's entry
Thread here https://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/threads/august-2019-british-pale-ales-bitters-and-milds.82829/
I'll be pushing the Aug comp a bit more once Steve has had a chance to do his judging - don't want to steal his limelight, but PM me if you need an address.
I'd love to, but I'm only on my 6th brew and I don't think I have anything that falls into those categories
No more bottles recieved today which means the final line up is thus:
@brewhaha Rhubarb Berliner
@Ray1314 Elvish Juice
@MackemBrew Hazy IPA
@Gulpitdarn Porter Swain
@An Ankoù Red IPA
@ProperJobHomebrew Chocolate Stout
@SteveH Special Bitter
@the_quick Golden Ale
@stigman Mago Lassi
@dan125 Kveik Pale Ale
@mozza New Beginnings APA
@pilgrimhudd Wheal Rose BIPA
Really looking forward to tasting these, though we're going to spread the judging over tonight and tomorrow so look out for results tomorrow evening.
Thanks to everyone who got involved, a great response this month
Some nice sounding beers to get your teeth into!
Well judging is now complete and the results are as follows:
1st place - @-Bezza- BIPA 43 points
2nd place - @An Ankoù Better Red Than Dead 41 points
3rd place - @ProperJobHomebrew Chocolate Stout 38.5 points
Honorable mention - @stigman Mago Lassi 38 points
I'll try to get the feedback collated and sent tonight (though I have about 60 sheets to go through so bear with me) but the standard was really very good with an average score of 34.5 overall. Thanks to everyone who got involved, this was a great experience and we thoroughly enjoyed judging your beers.
Good stuff, well done. I would be interested in the chocolate stout recipe if you don't mind sharing. I plan doing a stout soon and have all grain ready.
Thanks for the feedback Steve, big congrats to @-Bezza- @An Ankoù, @ProperJobHomebrew and @stigman!
