I have a reason to believe, the tread sizes are the same as the ones used for the ordinary 1/2 inch or 15mm pipework.

I've tried a metric ruler and it's definitely bigger than 15mm... maybe 16mm but even then seems a wee bit bigger?

Sorry I wasn't obvious, i meant the fittings used for the 15mm od pipework. Maybe you already have some of them in your toolbox.

I've checked it, those are much bigger.

It’s 3/8”... you’ll get a 3/8”x10/12mm fitting at most plumbing places. I’d use BES if you can’t get to plumbcentre.

Thank you that helps lots. I went with another supplier so as to get a female screw fitting with swivel so as not to twist the pipe with the connection:

A 1/2” tail would be too big for a 12mm silicon hose

Regarding BSP sizes, they bear no relation to their physical size, i.e. 1/2” BSP thread is not 12.7mm diameter. This might help
