I think you can connect Soda Stream to the regulator but there is some sort of adaptor needed. 😁
@Andy44 this is the adaptor that you would need in order to connect a Sodastream bottle to the kind of regulator that would normally connect to a full sized gas bottle.
Obvs any sort of vessel you're pressurising needs a safety valve though athumb..

Just kegged my mountain IPA, used a couple of the tea strainer things, didn’t work at all as I put too many hops in each, they were about half full when I put them in but completely stuffed when I took them out. Bit of a waste of hops as I can hardly taste the 150g or so I put in.
Think I’ll just live with the gunk next time and chuck them in loose!

Here is a short clip lisa, no hop spider just 180g loose pellets, and very little debris that got through the false bottom, pumping into the snub nose.
Hop cone after whirlpool.

I have a spare corny I use to capture fermentation co2 gas I use it for closed transfers purging etc saves quite a lot of co2 instead of hooking up the cylinder I have something like 42 litres of co2 stored just off two vigorous fermentation’s in my conical all rounder.

So we've splashed out a little for Christmas, choosing to brew three recipes this month. We have a busy weekend of brewing ahead of us.

I am doing a pale ale today, Jim is doing a stout tomorrow and I'm finishing on Sunday with a vienna lager - this one won't be ready until late January though I think.

Snippets of my brew day will follow this evening - when I've got everything in it's place. 😁

So I’m trying to make an English (ish) pale ale.

I started off with 20L of mash water in the Brewzilla.

I plonked all my malts in a bucket for ease of mashing in.

I made a jar of water salts for the mash and sparge water, separately.

Early PH reading was 5.3. I was happy with that so left it alone.

We have here in the small glass dish, 1/3 of a protafloc and some yeast nutrient. In the mug is a solution of brew brite.

Cooling down to whirlpool temps and then adding the whirlpool hops.

Was going for 1.048 but got 1.045. Not too bad. I thought I would give a brew belt a go in my conservatory. As you can see in the last picture, I managed to drop the glass bowl in the wort that I had my whirlpool hops in. Whoops! Good job it was only 80c and not boiling!

Yes, I always put two of everything in. Is that wrong?
