Looks like the dead hand of the mega breweries has fallen onto the London Field Brewery. Having taken over (merged? thats like a marriage between an Ent and a hobbit) with Marstons, Carlsberg Marstons have closed the London Fields Brewery and are looking for a buyer. I get why these factory ship breweries want to take over craft breweries but the very essence of the small breweries NOT being one of the gigantic three, is killed as soon as they become part of them. Can there ever be a successful formally independent brewery after being swollowed by these nasty giants? I don't mean in terms of commercial success, Sharps for example, but in terms of reputation?
