Lowering abv

This may be a silly question. Is it too late to add cooled boiled water to a fermented beer before kegging and carbing to lower the abv a little? I reckon my beer is around 5.8% which is a little stronger than I was hoping for, as it was supposed to be being drunk all day at Christmas!

If you dilute it it will probably taste thin and watery. Best to experiment with a small quantity.

It is possible but only add a little water as Kelper says too much will alter the body and mouthfeel etc

I think Terry is right. I will leave it. I don’t want to risk ruining it now! Would rather drink less nice beer than lots of watery crap!

It was the Amarillo pale ale from the Greg Hughes book. Ended up with a slightly higher OG than I was expecting.
