what does the earl grey add that standard tea doesn’t?

Bergamot,.A lemon like flavouring.
Earl Grey has for many years been regarded as premium product,

So does the tea add a lemony flavour? Not sure I want that. Does earl grey add tannin?
I get that earl grey is a “premium” tea, but not heard of it used in brewing before. Might test it on a small experimental batch.

Yes it will add tanin as well as a sightly lemonish flavour.
not at all unpleasant.
