Well my 5 x Winexpert reserve cabernet merlot kits are soon about to finish. And I'll need in total 150 wine bottles. I'm going with nova twist screw caps for bottling them. These caps are supposed to be suitable for long term aging of wine.

I've removing the metal shoulders from over 100 empty screw cap wine bottles so far and I have numerous cuts and stab wounds on my hands. I've been removing the metal shoulders with a sharp knife.

Does anyone have any tools or methods for safely removing the metal shoulders from wine bottles? Without the hand cuts and scratches from using a knife.

I buy one with little tabs on that you can pull, and it comes clean off.

Failing that I use a steak knife to gently slice upwards from the bottom and that shifts it pretty quick.

EDIT:- whoops I misunderstood the question. I thought you meant shrink caps. Soz, it's still early 😂
