Hi everyone

Right today I've bought the above kit £11!.

Want to use as a base for adding the CML hop mix punked up

Using just 1kg of dextrose it ends up @ 4.4%

I want a further 25% strength , without ballsing up the brew how much additional fermentable should I add? I'm thinking a further 500g might be too much ?

WhTs your thoughts everyone ?

Or brew shorter maybe ?

Thanks

Roughly speaking half a kilo of dextrose should add about 8 points to the specific gravity and will likely ferment almost completely so add about 1% to your final ABV (This is assuming a 23L batch).

That being this would leave you with the bulk of your fermentable’s as dextrose which may leave you with a somewhat thin beer (although as has being pointed out to me in the past some people enjoy their beer that way and intentionally use sugar over malt extract), so personally I would proably brew short but I haven’t made this particular kit, but it’s a popular one so hopefully someone will be able to comment who has actually tried this one.
