I'm starting a new Youtube Channel with my young son as a bit of a bonding exercise and a bit of educational fun.

We've worked together on the channel including the camera work and editing etc.

It's not amazing but our first real video produced is for the recipe I use for mead.

Here's the link to the video.

Please check it out and if you like it then make our day by liking the video and most importantly please subscribe to our channel if you would like to see more - if you want to see more brewing stuff we will add it (more subscribers will also make my son's day).

We are bound to improve and evolve as we go on so if you don't like it please don't let this video prevent you from visiting out future work. This is really a work in progress so please be kind.

No doubt my Home Brew Froum T-Shirt will feature in one of our future brewing videos.

Anyway, we hope someone finds it useful.

Great video FD and if Simon King is ever ill i am sure you could step in for him

Thanks - was thinking about trying some mead as my demijohns are empty and I'm making smaller batches of beer at the moment.

Subscribed. I really must get some decent bottles and corks and see what its like after 5 years or so. Have you tried more expensive honey? Like you i use the cheapo stuff. Try replacing a jar with a decent quality Jam. Lovely!

Hi FatDad, how did this mead turn out? Couldn't see any follow up videos on your youtube channel.

The mead is doing reallywell, I've left it in the demijohn and will be bottling it shortly. It's been crystal clear for a while and I've racked it a couple of times and degassed it. I'm probably going to rack it and degas it one final time and then bottle.

Yes I've tried a slightly better quality honey (and I added oranges too) and the results where good but I didn't sweeten it so it was quite dry but very drinkable and it's getting even better with age.

My current mead is honey only, no oranges as I think that contributed to the acidic dryness.
