In past years our club members would all meet up at a member’s home and brew all day, up to 15 or so 10 gallon batches. This year, our folks are busting to come out of our COVIDshells. We saw about 20 members show up two nights ago for the release of a Kottbusser at a local brewpub, which recipe was one of our members’ winning competition recipes.
So this year for National Homebrew Day (a.k.a. Big Brew), our members gathered in small groups of 2-5 to brew individual or shared batches. I used my new Anvil Foundry brewery for the second time, to brew a 5.5 gallon Belgian Dark Strong, the recipe being a clone of Rochefort 10 taken straight from the Beer Captured book. The batch seems to have gone well, and I think I will like this portable and flexible electric brewery.
