It seems that Hambleton Bard have been busy creating a new all-in-one brewing system, the Bulldog Master Brewer. It looks like quite an upgrade from the Bulldog Brewer v3, particularly with the insulation, improved pump and an interesting recirculation system which should eliminate the possibility of scorching. This video is all I can find about it, but there are more photos on the Bulldog/Coobra users Facebook group.

I'm looking at the Coobra which shares some good features with the Bulldog. But the Coobra does not have a detachable controller. The Bulldog's controller seems to have a glitch when setting the boil. Coobra is sold by The Home Brewery. Quite tempting at £464 with sparge heater and cooler.

Don’t do it, they have 2 very annoying errors in the firmware that will not be fixed.

Save the cash and get a Robobrew or pony up for a Grainfather.

The master brewer.

1. You have to fudge the offset to get the timer to start for the boil.

2. The first mash step has no alarm like step 2,3 and onwards.

Thanks, Lee; I got an email from Hambleton Bard saying, 'We don't consider this to be a problem, it is quite a simple way of starting the timer while maintaining a rolling boil.'

It’s a fudge, no doubt about it. You shouldn’t have to alter the calibration to get the timer to start counting.
