I'm actually (originally) from settle which is in North Yorkshire but in a west Yorkshire Bradford postcode.

Very true I imagine, but not at the same time. I'm originally from Hull in East Yorkshire, then spent decades in Sussex, yuk, and finally retired here in 2014.
However, in my younger days would drive over here on many weekends climbing or the occasional potholing.

Talking about pubs, last year I went back to the Hill Inn on the Ribblehead road.
I asked the barman if anyone had handed in a white Arran knitted hat that I'd lost the last time I'd been there. He looked under the bar, then asked the other staff, "Sorry pal, but I can't see anything. When did you lose it?"
My reply, "1972 I think."
