Hello everyone i am new to home brewing and i have found this forum very helpful.
I have started a brew of Kentish bitter from a beginners kit 2 days ago and i am waiting for the tell tale bubbles from my airlock.
Fingers crossed i will be enjoying my first brew in about 2 or 3 weeks.
    Regards.

Your welcome and it's always good to see those who've been visiting as guests and putting the knowledge they acquired to work as it puts a bit of pride into the forum.

    Good morning, and welcome!
Two days should be normally enough for the airlock to be active, how is it today?

Hi, on the third morning still no bubbles but i had a brainwave and used duct tape to seal all around the lid.
Within a minute i had strong bubbles so it appears that the lid seal was no good.

Glad to see duct tape worked. The less 'agricultural' method is to place four strips of cling film over the entire FV rim and replace the lid. Works for me when I want to see a bubbly airlock.
