Will the gravity reading be accurate after carbonation? I have always assumed that the escaping CO2 bubbles would affect the reading.
No, you're right, but I was assuming that the brew was being force carbed as it was in a corny. I usually keg my beers and keep them purged and with a C02 layer until there's room in the kegerator for it. athumb..
 
Chill out - pun intended - a beer kit plus 1 kg sugar will have an OG near to 1.040 as will an all grain beer with 11.25 lbs of grain. It will ferment in 4 to 7 days, bottle it, wait 7 days, taste it, wait 7 more days taste it again, when it is really nice drink 2 bottles a night, and brew another batch,,,,,,you are hooked,,,,,,,who needs all that dispense equipment,,,,,
