I bought a bottling device (on eBay) but have found myself fighting to stop it popping off or going at an angle. All very frustrating. I suspect it is been too well used and needs replaced. The ad said used twice but I doubt that - so I would put that down to experience.

Surely the tops should be crimped to seal in a simple movement by and large?

If it needs replaced I will go and order a new one, but I don’t want to do that and find out the difficulties I have experienced are normal.

I have included pictures.

Yes, Youngs amongst others make them. A handle on each side the clamps on supposedly and pushes the top on.

Yes I had one too, never seemed to clamp the caps on properly.
Apparently there only for certain types of bottles. Used mine once and is now sitting with all the other bits of useless kit I brought.
The bench top cappers are best bet think there about £15-20

2nd the tabletop capper, never looked back cost about £20 also invest in a bottling tree and fill your bottles in order of height so your not adjusting your capper every time,
Also give your bottles a quick twist to make sure the caps are on properly, if any are loose check them the next day (they should be tight by then)
