Hello, I'm Ben from London. I am relatively new to brewing, I started after my grandad gave me a couple of his 1970s wine making books last year. I never really fancied making wine, but there was a recipe in one for a very basic bitter.
This went awfully, but I enjoyed it so much that I have brewed every time I have had the money since (not too often being a student). Unfortunately the closest thing to a homebrew shop I can find in East London is Wilkinsons, which has a very limited supply. So I usually have to shell out even more for delivery costs to real homebrew shops.
Much of the time the extent of my brewing is simply chucking a load of apple juice and sugar into the bucket with some yeast. But I have been making some beers lately, with a partial grain porter on the go at time of writing.
This was rather a slapdash and unscientific attempt, but hopefully all will go well. But I'm here to learn and to hone my new and exciting craft. :)
