I was expecting pilsner, American lager, helles.

I’m half way through!

Looking forward to tomorrow’s round a lot. 2 of tonight’s beers were excellent and definitely the standard setters - they are very very close. The other 2 were still very good. Very happy all round with the standard of the beers so far!

Edit - I’d just like to add that I didn’t sample the beers in the same order as the photograph.

In a late twist, a bottle arrived today from @DocAnna just in time for judging.

It probably means I’ll do 3 tonight and 2 tomorrow, giving Anna’s time to settle and @Hazelwood Brewery ’s additional time.

I was once docked 5 or 10 points (can't remember which) by the judge of one of these competitions (can't remember who) because my beer arrived after the last day of the month, even though he didn't judge till a week later. True story.

Absolutely, 5 points per day just to be fair.

Looks like people are starting to crack under the pressure of extra competition. I can see the virtual beads of sweat!

The judge said he would accept entries that arrived by Saturday - maybe those try to influence the judge should be docked 5 points per post!

That’s tonight’s 3 done. I think it’s only fair on Anna and Hazelwood if I do their beers tomorrow to give time to settle properly.

What I will say, though, is that one of tonight’s beers was and completely blew me away. The 2 remaining entries have a big beer to beat!

TBH I wasn't thinking of this as a competition, it just seemed like a good bit of fun and I know I'm not any kind of serious competition.....give me a few years and I might get closer .
