Has anyone bothered with them?

I was going to order some Wheat Malt and I noticed the MaltMiller suggests using the Husks in Wheat !

yes I've used them in mainly IPA's with rye or porridge oats or wheat beers to help with the mash and avoiding sticking. They do help but you may need to stir the mash a couple of times before it really flows well on circulation. I think I used 200 to 400 g depending on how much porridge oats/rye/ wheat is used. As I said they do not work initially but 2 or 3 stirs in the first 10 minutes seems to help and the mash settles down

Ah OK thanks for that Baron. That was going to be my next question ........ How much should I use?

I just brewed a dunkleweizen which was 50% wheat malt, I didn't measure but I probably added 200 - 300 g of the husks. Step mashed since I have a grainfather and my mash and sparge were a dream, got 80% efficiency in the end too which was nice.
