I finished my first ever Geordie lager and it was a success
Thanks for all the advice
So have now stepped it up a bit
Bought another FV and 3 more lagers
I bottled then 1st batch and put in the Fridge
Could I use a PB after fermented and pour straight to glass
Also how would I keep it the PB cool
Or should I just stick to bottles

I used a PB for my first few brews, and yes it was nice to just open the tap and pour off as much as I wanted each time, but I found it a PITA to seal and maitain pressure, it only stayed as cool as the room you put it in and mine developed an infection that I couldn't remove.

If it were me, I would stick to bottles for now, if you get serious, consider cornelius kegs further down the line.

What do they do

A friend said he bottles half and leaves the rest in the PB

Do a search on PB's on this forum. They are great when they work but people get so many issues with sealing them, it's a bit of a dark art.

I started off with 50/50 PBs and bottles but now I almost exclusively bottle. I've got 3 PBs and each has given me various problems over the years, to the point I no longer trust them now.

🤔🤔🤔
Thanks for that
Will keep a stock of bottles just in case
My friend is going to lend me his PB
So will give it 1 shot
With the bottles on standby
Will do 50/50

I have two king kegs and not had a problem with preasure drops or not sealing.
Kegs all the way for me now.
Chilling the beer is another thing as already said beer is only as cool as the room its keept in.
