PET bottles and tops

This could be a daft question but do you have to use new screw caps on every new brew??

Also is there a limit to how many time PET bottles can be used due to wear and tear on the threads, i wouldn't want to loose pressure due to this.

You can put all the screw top lids in a bowl and pour boiling water on them. This cleans and sanitises.

Think I'm on my fourth bottling of beer into my brown Coopers PET bottles. All OK! Just remember to rinse and clean your bottles straight after each pour to remove any sediment.

I've reused my pet bottles about 6 or 7 times now. The last time I used them I rinsed out after pouring a beer and put the caps back on. This time round I just sprayed them with star san and then bottled a new brew. So far I've had about 10 beers out of the batch and they've all been fine.

When re using my lids I noticed the the white film on the inside of some of the lids was missing!
Does this matter does anyone know?

I've noticed the majority of lids on pop bottles don't have the little diaphragm any more and are all one material, not sure of the difference in performance.
