You must have one fantastic palate if you can taste the difference between a 5.2% beer and a 5.6% one :hat:

Like I said it tasted funny
Wasn’t until I looked on their app I saw it was down to 5,2%

Not that tricky if you're familiar with a beer and they change the formulation, it'll likely have affected the mouthfeel, malt flavour and hop profile too.

I said on another post that the cans have went from 5.6 last week to 5.4 this week
The hops have also been slashed, I used to love this beer, gutted

I notice that a few beers are different strength depending on whether they're bottled or draught.

Apparently it was done based on feedback from a blind trial where both types were available to test in the bars. Not tried the new version myself so can't pass comment on it.

Funnily enough I am just trying one now and it not a patch on the original. Quite bland and disappointing.I'm not so much bothered about the lower abv but the taste isn’t nice at all .

Haven't brewdog always said there is a 0.2% difference in punk. I have seen both 5.4 and 5.6% cans in Tesco

Quite what this might have to do with our duly elected government is beyond me. Could more easily blame those that chose to drink in spoons, supporting the sort of business that they are, but hey. 😏

Anyway, definitely noticing a thinning of the beer and lack of hop flavour compared to what it used to be like. That's from the cans. I can't be sure if this is me getting used to this style of beer, becoming desensitized to hops or, more likely, brewdog now focusing more on the profit and less on the beer.

Brew Dog used to have something on the bottles like "We brew our way and if you don't like it, up yours!" Now they're doing blind taste tests and allowing the public to decide. The logical conclusion to this scenario is that they'll soon be making a John Smiths smooth clone:mad:
