I'm after some tubing to run the wort from my mash tun to the boiler, and not sure if PVC is up to the job.
The PVC tubing I've got is marked "food safe" with the fork logo, but I've read that it's not recommended for over 60C. I can buy silicone tubing that's rated for 170C but I'll need to order 25m...
Is there any risk using the PVC with wort at 70C ish? I'm assuming the worst that can happen is I will get some off taste/plasticy odours, there's no risk of anything more sinister is there?

I just use PVC (from the pet shop) tubing in my mini pumped system, so far no issues, it gets a bit soft, but as long as you are careful about the routing there is no problem.

I looked at silicone but he extortionate price put me off ;)
