This is an "IPA" using 4kg MO, 500g Carared and 300g of torrified wheat. The idea was to get a kind of reddish beer. The hops were 22g of Chinook at boil, 13g of Rakau at 15g and 20g Rakau for a 20 min hop stand. Pitched US05 OG is 1056 so this will be 6% if it gets down to 1010. Colour at pitch is more pale orange than red. Smell at pitch malty with a slight hint of some spicy fruit. Taste at pitch mild, fruity with not much bitterness at all, sweet but not very creamy as some have been. A bit teaish at the tip of my tongue, very different from other brews at this stage.

I am using the GrainFather and when I put in the hop numbers for the hopstand it gives me IBUs for those hopstand hops and therefore I dropped the amount of hops I would normally put in. I dont think this is correct as the sweetness says that this wont be an IPA.
