Hi All,

I am going to Munich for a week ostensibly to visit my sister but actually to sit in the Augustiner Keller beer garden.

In order to break the monotony of foaming Mass of Helles and plates of Haxn, I quite fancy a brewery tour and a visit to a hop farm.

Anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks,

Wilson.

Didn't manage a tour but my sister recommended the Spaten tour.

If you're on your own you have to book in advance and tag along onto a party of up to 30 which I wouldn't mind.

This is what 10 million litres of brewing beer look like:

Nice copper...

Only a 10 minute walk from the Augustiner Keller...

I used to live about half a mile from the AK and I never once tried the Pils. Frankly I didn't even know it existed till my sister ordered one.

Very pleasant indeed. Like a slightly hoppier Helles.

I stuck to the Edelstoff. Due to the heat, the first one barely touched the sides on the way down.

Kinda pricey... Eur 3,90. Better than the coke though... Eur 4,50 !!

A good time had by all.
