Hi, I'm thinking about replacing the taps on my two FVs. They are a bog standard white plastic swivelling-barrel design with a couple of strange tiny holes in the sleeve and pin whose purpose eludes me (photo here : New Bottling Bucket ... Tap Leaking?)

I had a minor whoopsie last time I was bottling, when the swivelling part of the tap decided to come out of the sleeve as I was fitting a bottling tube ashock1 - so I am thinking of finding a replacement.

There seem to be quite a lot of polythene taps on the market - has anybody found a metal tap you can put into a standard 25mm hole in a FV, and is it worth it? Are there particular good/bad types/supplies?

Thanks for any thoughts on this.
