Sad to hear of Roger’s passing.

He completely transformed St Austell brewery over the years.

When I lived in Cornwall and started homebrewing I got in touch with him to ask about their processes and he was only too happy to lend some advice.

I still use his approach to water treatment to this day.

RIP, gone too soon.

I really liked Maclays in the 90s when he would have been brewing it. Also been a big fan of St Austell from drinking it a lot visiting relatives in Cornwall.

What was his advice out of interest?

Very sad news, his beers were always of a high standard. The brewery tap is well worth a visit they have some very interesting small batch brews on as well as the core range. RIP
