Hi all

New to the forum and so far been reading some great advice. thank you.

I have recently purchased a brew your own pack from Wilko's and it's been going well except for the final stage. How do I know when the rose is clear? It said up to 7 days, it's been over 14 and it still has bubbles on the top when I checked yesterday. It also doesn't have the best smell but not sure if this is normal.

I following the instructions to the letter. I put slightly less sugar in (based on posts from this forum) but added a tiny bit of caster sugar which was the only thing I did differently.

It may be ready but don't want to start putting it in the second ferminator just in case. There is an option to purchase something extra too which I could try but thought it best I ask on here first.

Thanks

All kits take longer than the instructions state.
Just make sure it's fully fermented out, and degassed before adding the stabiliser and finings...
Best way to check is with a trusty old hydrometer.

Welcome to the forum.

You say "How do I know when the rose is clear" do you mean finished fermenting as you haven't mentioned adding stabiliser etc, if that is the case you need a hydrometer and trial jar as its the only way to know for sure and they will come in handy if you start making your own as you can make wines to whatever strength you want (within reason)

If you want to save money on buying kits have a look at this - https://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/...ne-recipes-and-wurzels-orange-wine-wow.49462/
