Hoping for some opinion (and you guys have that in no short supply, what are your thoughts on s23 vs M84. I have a litre of M84 slurry put into the fridge at bottling yesterday, or a healthy starter of S23, started earlier this week.

I'm wanting a more crisp, less malty, not so hoppy beer, if that's any help.

Thanks all
Nick

Bump - anymore for any more? Set to be pitched later this afternoon.

I haven't used either, but rumour is that they are the same strain. What about a split batch to see if it's true? @Pennine split a batch with M76 and W34/70 which are supposedly the same, but the resulting beers were very different.

I'd love to give it a try, but with a porter still fermenting I'm a bucket too short.

Interesting you say they are from the same strain.

I may give s23 a go so I can compare, all be it not directly, in my mandarina na bavaria lager. Only to help matters further, I've split that batch into 3 already, one dry hopped, the other bottled and the final with added orange zest.

It can't be called excessive drinking if it's for science right 🥴
