Hi guys,

I made a mistake on my first home brew in terms of water calculations and to cut it short ended up with an 8% ale. I bottled it yesterday and it is cloudy and doesn’t taste amazing. Now I’m not sure whether the taste is due to the high alcohol content or I’ve maybe got an infection of some kind. It doesn’t smell off it just smells really strong! Can I expect the taste to change much with the secondary fermentation. And will it clear in the secondary fermentation also.
Thanks

It should eventually drop clear. Leave it somewhere warm for two weeks to carbonate then move to a cooler, dark place. It may take a few months to condition at 8%. Hide it in the shed and try one in a month or so.
