Hello there,
we are quite happy that our service is also used in the UK.
Soon you'll have the possibility to order directly from the website, so you no longer have to write us an annoying email. ;)

I hope that your gov and the EU figure something out so we can still send beer to you without extra taxes. :D
To encourage forum members to order you could get together with the site owners and offer a forum discount. :D

My order from Biermarket.de has just arrived almost exactly a week after ordering so while not as fast as web-bier it's still impressive. The beer (30 bottles) was very, very well packed. Although the very heavy package had taken a knock on one corner in transit (that also dented the internal packaging) all of the beer was intact. I now have a nice variety to drink with some useful empties to re-use at the end.

Hi, I tried ordering thru their website but you can't change the address from Germany to the UK. What did you do?

Think I just did a Paypal checkout. But I must admit it was a year ago and my memory of it is a bit hazy. I may have had an ale or two before ordering.

I'm after 330ml flip top bottles in a crate, and sadly Beowein only do 500ml flip tops. So I've ordered a crate of Hopus from Belgium in a Box. Nice beer, nice bottles, nice crate. But a bit pricey.

@Biermarket.de Any chance you would be able to sell 20 bottles in the original crate, as lots of us home brewers are after flip top bottles and a nice crate to store them in?

Thought I'd report back on my recent experiences of dealing again with both Biermarket.de and web-bier.
The bottom line is I'm happy to deal with either but there is a very significant difference between them in the time between placing an order and receiving the beer.
Both companies have a range of beers to choose from but in terms of beer that I like there is wider choice from Biermarket.de. Both companies pack the beer (and glasses) very well, I've now received a total of four orders (two from each company) with everything intact on delivery.

The difference between the two becomes apparent on placing an order.

With web-bier I placed an order online and checked out at 08:30 on last Friday morning (7th Aug) . At 09:11 the same day I received an email stating the order was in process, followed by an e-mail from UPS just 6 minutes later with a tracking number and stating the delivery date as today, 11th Aug and as promised the beer arrived today at 13:17, so just over two working days after placing the order. This speed of delivery is consistent with my previous experience wit them when I also ordered on Friday and received the following Tuesday. I'd mentioned I was putting on a mini German beer festival for friends this weekend and they included a generous selection of beer mats.

With Biermarket.de I e-mailed an order on Monday 20th July around midday. It's not possible to order directly from UK, you have to email your requirements then wait for their email confirming costs....I had no response until Wed 22nd July explaining they were short staffed due to holidays (fair enough) and then got confirmation of the price the following day. (I notice that on June 12th on this thread they said they would soon eliminate the need to email to place an order but no sign of that yet )

An hour or so after I paid I was informed that one of the beers I'd ordered (4 bottles) was out of stock and was invited to choose any four replacements (although not explicit I believe I could have chosen any four but I played fair and chose comparably priced beer) so this seemed a reasonable way to deal with the stock shortage.
On Monday 27th July they provided as tracking number and I finally received the beer at 17.15 on Monday 3rd August, just over 10 working days after placing the order. The package also contained some postcards with fun beer-related slogans.

So i hope that's a fair and balanced review, as I said right at the start, I will happily deal with both companies again but if I need something in a hurry the choice is clear!

Great review rocketman! I too had a good experience with web-bier. Would definitely use them again.

There is a deposit on crates in Germany but it does not cover the cost of them for a lot (if not all) breweries. As there is essentially no chance of the crates being returned it’s not a great thing to ask, some of the more famous German breweries are taking quite a financial hit from people “collecting” their crates.

Just a quick update on buying from Biermarket.de It's still quite a painful process but at least it has got cheaper!

For my most recent order I tried their new way of sending an order by clicking a button to send a screenshot of the shopping cart. When I had no response for over a week I emailed and they informed me that feature wasn't working well and they had deactivated it but checking today it is on their website but I don't know if it is now working. I resorted to my usual method of manually emailing a screenshot.....it's not ideal as I have to zoom out to get the whole cart into one picture but it works.

They then informed me some of my choices were out of stock but coming later.

Now the good news: they told me that if I was was willing to wait until Monday 16th November for despatch the shipping price was dropping from Euros 23 to Euros 8.50. (I checked this morning, it now shows as Euros 9.50 but that's still good value in my opinion for a box of 30 bottles) Having already waited over 2 weeks another 10 days seemed acceptable and my beer duly arrived by DPD on Sat 21st. It was superbly packed as usual and no damage. There seemed to be one or two substitutions from my original choice but they were intelligent choices and completely acceptable to me.

Hope that helps someone. Prost!

Well this is a good, timely reminder as I was thinking about what beer to get in for Christmas as now we are having the inlaws over. What was the total cost all in from biermarket if you don't mind me asking?

I don't mind you asking at all but you may have more expensive tastes than me! Total including shipping was Euros 58.33 which Paypal converted to £54.97 (I've not yet tried any of the cheaper Euro payment methods suggested by others earlier in this thread.
My box was a mixture of 500ml and 330ml bottles (not all swingtops) . (some of the 330s where swingtops, my partner prefers a smaller beer so I use the 330s to bottle a few from each of my brews for her.
Hope that helps!

How many beer did you get for that price. I must check it out later but the last time I looked the shipping to Ireland was expensive

Samale: That price was for 30 bottles, it was a mixture of various styles and as mentioned some were 330ml and some 500ml The shipping cost is fixed for 30 bottles regardless of the size. I just checked, their website says Euros 13.79 for Ireland.

I tried using using some flip top bottles I had emptied(consumed) and the carbonation levels were below the other bottles. Should you change the rubber ring whenever reusing flip top bottles for the first time?

Generally I don't and to be honest I've been using some of my bottles for years without changing the ring. One or two have not felt tight when clipping them shut so I do then change the ring.
