Tried one tonight. Not much carbonation, so I think I’m safe from bottle bombs. Happy to drink a slightly flat beer to avoid having to redecorate ;)

Tasting ok - a bit bland but not offensive. I used a bolder DME for the second batch so interested to see how that changes the result.

Final update. I laboured through most of these but ended up tipping a few as I needed the bottles.
Was very dull - needs pimping IMO.
 
Had a very similar experience of this.
Made up with 1kg Light DME.
Boiled 25g East Kent Golding hops for 5 mins in the brew water and then a further 25g added as a dry hop.
Used S-04 yeast.
Not bad, just very meh.

I'm going to give the Mangrove Jack's Rustic Brown Ale kit a try for my next brown ale.
