Have you had a weather warning?

Storm Bert is expected to bring high winds and potential flooding as it hits the UK on Saturday.

Disruption is expected over the weekend, with gusts of 40-60mph (65-96km/h) forecast in Scotland, Northern Ireland, north Wales and northern England.

An amber warning for snow and ice has been issued for central Scotland, while numerous yellow warnings for rain and wind are in place for Saturday and Sunday.

The Environment Agency says heavy rain could lead to areas of localised flooding in northern England.

A yellow warning for wind has also been issued for Scotland and parts of Northern England from 05:00 to 19:00 GMT on Saturday.

Strengthening winds will be felt by all - but some of the strongest gusts, of up to 70mph (113km/h), will be around the Irish Sea and southern England coasts.

High winds will continue at times well into Sunday and Monday as Bert makes slow progress eastward across the UK.

Are ya going Chippy_Tea?

The Christmas Festival has been going 24 years and if you live locally its like groundhog day, i am not a fan of crowds and as you can see in the pic above the town is rammed with folk, its great for the town and stall holders etc but i will be staying well away.

Lashing it down here, NE Yorkshire and Scotland are struggling with snow and 60,000 homes in Ireland are without power due to wind and flooding, have you been effected?

It wasn’t the most powerful storm I have encountered living very close to Ireland’s most northerly point but we lost power at around 5.30am Saturday and it wasn’t on again untill 8.30pm that night. Longest we have had no power for in the 18 years I’ve lived there and we have had some severe storms over the years. I think the direction of the wind and the prolonged rain caused most of the damage. It’s still very windy now.

Some awful video and pictures on the news people losing everything and some for the second time in a couple of years, we got hit hard last time but got away with it this time.

Our council has spent a lot of money trying to make sure the exposed parts of the town beck which runs through the middle of town doesn't flood again and so far it has worked.

Great news -

A man has been arrested after a tractor driver was seen driving through deep floodwaters in Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire, which led to damage to shops.

The town centre was flooded on Sunday after a wall collapsed by Kyre Brook.

In a video shared on social media, a wave from the tractor's wake was seen striking shops and homes overlooking the street, breaking some windows.

A 57-year-old was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and dangerous driving and released on bail while inquiries continue, police said.

Insp Dave Wise, of West Mercia Police, said: "I'd like to thank everyone who brought this incident to our attention and to the local community for their cooperation and support yesterday while we carried our initial inquiries."
